Yet, the very first scene of The Prisoner of Azkaban shows Harry practising the Luminous Maxima spell in his Uncle’s house. But the entire movie never addressed it. It was a significant mistake that the makers could have caught on during the edits.

The Quidditch World Cup in The Goblet Of Fire

The Quidditch world cup scene was a majestic depiction of the wizards’ love for the tournament. It showed people from all over the wizarding world swarming in to witness the game between teams of Ireland and Bulgaria, but sadly it was cut short by the army of Voldemort. Both the wizards and in the movie and the audience in the hall would have preferred to see Ireland win the cup and Viktor Krum catch the Golden Snitch that led to their victory. The scene was worthy of much more, but it may have been shortened so leave time for other scenes.

Draco as a Dementor in The Prisoner of Azkaban

In the book, when Draco Malfoy finds out about the incident Harry had with the Dementors, he finds this uncontrollable itch to make a practical joke out of it. The three Slytherin friends- Malfoy, Crabbe and Goyle assumed the look of Dementors during Harry’s Quidditch match. In a reflex to defend himself, Harry cast a Patronus charm that startled the trio. Professor McGonagall was not very impressed with this attempt at humour and severely scolded the boys. But the movie only shows them teasing him during a class. It would have been a real relief to see the loathsome trio be at the receiving end of some harsh punishment.

The fourth movie introduced the character of Reeta Skeeter. Depiction of her personality was as an immoral journalist who felt no shame in writing inaccurate stories and her misleading reports were usually the basis of all the wrong ideas that the wizards had about events. All in all, she was a horrible person.

Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot and Prongs in The Prisoner of Azkaban

The biggest drawback of translating a vividly imaginative book series into movies is that a lot of material either gets lost in translation or has to be voluntarily left out because of lack of screen time. But the small information that can be conveyed by a couple of dialogues should be consciously incorporated. The movies did a fantastic job in explaining the affection between Sirius Black, Remus Lupin, James Potter and Peter Pettigrew. An author has no restriction of imagination when he writes a book, but when you try to create a movie franchise out of that book, the team can bring only so much to life. We witnessed this handicap when the tournament contestants entered the labyrinth for the final task. The movie only depicted wild hedges as the biggest threat for the young wizards. But in the book, the maze was riddled with horrendous creatures to harm and be a roadblock to victory.

Voldemort’s Speech in The Goblet of Fire

The speeches of Voldemort have always been a prominent part of the movies, but the Dark Lord officially returned in the fourth movie. Sometime in history, the Unova region was host to a mysterious dragon dominated by twin heroes. When the twins discovered Unova, they had different expectations for the land. While one went on a journey to find ideals, the other went to find the truth.  When the brothers began to disagree on what was more critical, the dragon fractured into Reshiram and Zekrom.

The Old Guard: What Are the Ages of The Immortals?

Andromache the Scythian is more than six centuries old. Netflix recently released a movie based on these comics, and it received a fairly good review. The age of the protagonist, Andy, was intentionally not clarified because that would take away the mystique. But here is a close estimation of what the other characters’ ages are:

In the movie, Quynh is depicted only in the part where the film goes into a flashback. Determination of her age is the hardest of them all. Comics have given her the nickname of Noriko. Andy says that the two women met during the conclusion of the conquest of the Byzantine empire by Amr ibn al-As al-Sahmi back in 642. Noriko was immortal for a century before that. Simple math puts her around 500 BC. In the movie, Andy says that Noriko is the first fellow immortal she encountered, but the comics differ a little. As per the texts, Andy met Lykon before Noriko. The two fought together for two centuries, and then Lykon’s injuries did not heal anymore.

Yusuf Al-Kaysani

Yusuf a.k.a. Joe, played by Marwan Kenzari, was supposedly born in 1066. The mention of this is on his character poster. If this is true, then the man was 954 years old when the movie Old Guard takes place. Yusuf changed his name to Joe Jones to not be in constant limelight. He was a Mohammedan fighter at the time of the First Crusade and met his love on the battlefield before killing him. Ironically, they were the new Old Guard members and kept trying to murder each other to no avail. When they realized that they were incapable of dying, they ended up falling in love with each other

Nicoló De Genoa

Nicoló a.k. Nicky and Joe were very few years apart, but that difference fades away with time if your destiny forces you to live for centuries. As per Nicky’s character poster, he was born in 1069. With that being established as a fact, he was 49 years short of being a century old when the Old Guard takes place. Nicky changed his name from Nicoló De Genoa to Nick Smith to make it easier for everyone and support his desire for anonymity. Nicky was originally from Genoa.

Sebastien Le Livre

Like all the others, Sebastien changed his name to Booker somewhere between his first death and the present day. Booker is the youngest of the entire group until Nile walks in, and his character poster says that he was born in 1770. He was a warrior behind Napoleon but abandoned the camp to Russia. For this crime, the army caught him and hung him in 1812. He was 42 years old then. He soon came to life, hanging from the same noose.

The movie was a directorial project of Gina Prince-Bythewood and told a tale of fighters and warriors who have been around for centuries at once and cannot die even if they want to. The group earns by fighting in conflicts from the side of the army that they feel is more moral.

Since it is a full touchscreen, you can interact with Echo Show 8 without any voice command. One can have easy access to musical applications like Spotify, Audible, Apple Music, Amazon Music, etc. It also does not provide access to Netflix, which is disappointing. These are a few limitations that cannot make it a replacement for a TV, but for music, it is a great device to go for.

Google Nest Hub

Google also provides its small displays. The Google Assistant powers Google Nest Hub and it gives a far better service than Echo Show 8.  One needs to spend $129 to have this fantastic gadget. Google Nest Hub has a 7-inch display, which makes it even more portable and comfortable to place it in a nightstand. It has a fantastic brightness fixing feature, which adjusts the display brightness automatically according to the surrounding intensity and light availability. The feature provides a fantastic look to the display. It almost looks like seeing the picture on the paper rather than on the screen. Since it is a Google product, the user can have backup photos from his/her Google Photos. And that will provide you with the best photo frame experience on display.

Since it does not provide the camera feature, you cannot use it for video calling. And the most unfortunate thing about it is the speakers. They are not even close to the speakers of Echo Show 8. Since it has a smaller 7-inch display, it also makes it a little uncomfortable to look at the screen from afar. But if you are a frequent YouTube watcher, then you should go for it. Nest Hub allows you to access video contents from any applications other than Netflix, which you cannot obtain from Echo Show 8. Other than that, Nest Hub has very similar features like Echo Show 8. It also displays upcoming appointments, grocery lists, video tutorials, etc.

Lenovo Smart Display 10

Lenovo Smart Display 10 is the third in the list. One can get the best deal from Lenovo stores at $149.99. It has an appreciable user-interface. The in-built software of Lenovo Smart Display is pretty well designed. It works great with Google’s ecosystem and provides good access to it. However, its speakers are less powerful and do not provide a rich audio experience to the consumers. It also does not provide access to Netflix as the previous devices, and it is a little annoying to speak “Hey Google” every time one needs to interact with the thing.
