Xbox App Is Going to Have a Big Update for iOS, Here Is Everything You Need to Know

Microsoft is always looking to enhance the user experience by rolling out new features and functions to its products. This time Microsoft has decided to make things easier for the gaming community associated with the brand as the Xbox app is going to have a big update for iOS. This update will enable users to stream games from their Xbox consoles to their iPhones and iPads. This feature is already available for Android users in beta, and now iOS users will also be able to stream their games remotely as this update is supposed to be rolling out soon.

The new update in the Xbox app is going to be useful as it will enable users to launch their Xbox console remotely just with the Xbox app on their iPhone or iPad. You will be able to switch on your Xbox console remotely, which will be indicated by a sound or a flashing light. Users will be able to access this feature when their iPhone and Xbox console are connected to the same Wi-Fi network as well as mobile networks, including LTE and 5G also. This feature will let users browse their Xbox content on the iPhone and stream the games available on their Xbox console. This feature does not give you access to xCloud, but you can only stream those games which are already available on your console. The Xbox console will be back to the standby mode when you disconnect the console from your phone or after some period of inactivity.

You will be able to access the remote play feature from the My Consoles section in the app. There have been some changes also made in the redesigned app, which include a new home screen, friends tab, search interface, and My Library tab. This updated app will allow you to download and share the game clips or screenshots captured on your Xbox console. The Xbox app will also allow you to manage the space on your console as you will be able to delete the games which you don’t play longer.

New Xbox consoles are said to be launching this November, and the new updates in the Xbox app are to keep it compatible with those. The new Xbox apps work faster on iOS than the previous version, and the remote play feature is exciting as it gives you the control of your console on your iPhone. Sony has already provided the Remote play feature on Android and iOS, and now Microsoft is also making it easier for the users as they will not have to sit with their console for every little thing. Microsoft is still testing the new Xbox app with TestFlight members, and we can expect this exciting app to be rolling out soon on the Apple Store.

Microsoft has already been providing the best gaming experience with the Xbox consoles, and this latest update is surely going to enhance your experience of gaming as you will be able to stream your games on both console and your iPhone.

Guide to Set Up Your Xbox One Controller with Windows 10 PC

Guide to Set Up Your Xbox One Controller with Windows 10 PC

Microsoft’s Xbox One controller is one of their most sought-after products. It is an excellent controller that will enhance your gaming session experiences. It makes it easy to play and brings fantastic controls on your fingertips. You can connect the controller with cables or use it wirelessly on your Windows PC. These controllers have long-lasting batteries that are better than any other gaming console’s controller. It offers less latency during heavy fighting games. But connecting them can seem like a task, especially if you’re new into the gaming world. To help you out, we have mentioned all the different ways that you can use to connect your Xbox One controller to your PC and steps to configure it:

Ways to Connect the Controller

There are various ways you can use to connect the Xbox One controller with your PC, but it mainly depends if you want to use cable or go wireless. Following are the methods you can use:

Use a USB Cable

Your controller comes with a micro-USB cable so that you can create a wired connection. Start by plugging the USB cable into your computer and plug the other end into the front of your controller. The connection will be established, and charging will instantly begin. Remember that you’ll have to do this every time you need to charge your controller.

Use a Wireless Adapter

This method will help you connect the controller wirelessly, but before that, you’ll need an Xbox One Wireless Adapter for Windows 10. You might find this adapter in the package of your controller. If not, you can purchase it separately. Note that this is different from the adapter for the Xbox 360 controller.

After purchasing the Wireless Adapter, plug it into a USB port on your computer. You may need to use the USB extender (included in the package) depending on how far the port is at the back of your computer. Then, hold the Xbox button on your controller to turn it on, and press the button on the adapter. Now, press the bind button on your controller. The LED on your controller will start blinking. In the meantime, it will begin searching for a connection and will stop flashing once the connection gets established.

Use Bluetooth

This method is for those who have Bluetooth support on their Xbox One controller. To check if your controller has Bluetooth support, check the surrounding of the Xbox logo on the controller. If it is similar to the plastic as the controller, i.e., without seams, then it supports Bluetooth. If you find a separation between the face of the controller and the logo, then it doesn’t support Bluetooth. Here are the steps to pair your devices together:

  1. Go to the Settings of your PC and click on Devices.
  2. Select Bluetooth & other devices, and switch on the toggle for Bluetooth so that it can search for available devices.
  3. Now, click on Add Bluetooth or Other Device and select Bluetooth.
  4. Press the Xbox logo on your controller to turn it on, and press the bind button located at the top.
  5. The Xbox Wireless Controller will appear on your device listing.
  6. Click on Pair to establish a connection.

Xbox Controller Management and Configuration

Before going any further, you must download the Xbox Accessories app from the Microsoft Store to get the most out of your controller. Following are the list of things you can do on the app to manage and configure your controller:

Update Your Xbox Controller

By default, Windows 10 comes with the relevant drivers for the Xbox One controller. It helps to update your controller and get all the benefits from the latest firmware. If you experience any issue with your controller, then you should try updating it using the following steps:

  1. Open the Xbox Accessories app and connect your controller with it.
  2. Now, click on the three horizontal dots icon and select the Firmware version. Then click on Update now.

Test the Buttons on Your Controller

If you are doubtful of the buttons on your controller being registered or not, then try testing them with the Xbox Accessories app. Start by clicking on the Beaker icon. Now you can press the buttons, pull the triggers, and move the sticks on the controller. If the controller works fine, then you’ll see a corresponding icon appearing next to ‘Button Pressed.’ If not, then your controller might be faulty.

Steps to Successful Calibration

Your controller will come calibrated in the package, but you can use the Windows calibration tool to adjust or check its responsiveness. Use the following steps carefully:

  1. Open the Start menu, search for ‘joy.cpl,’ and select the Control panel item result.
  2. The Game Controller window will open. Now, select your controller from the list and click on Properties.
  3. The Test tab will be open from where you can determine the location of your resting thumbstick on the axis.
  4. If you’re not satisfied, switch to the Settings tab and click on Calibrate. Follow the instructions carefully to calibrate the controller.
  5. You can reset everything to the original state by clicking on ‘Reset to Default’ from the Settings tab.

This guide will help you use your Xbox One controller without any issue. If these don’t help or your controller fails to respond, then get it checked from an expert.

Your Favourite Xbox Games Are Coming to Android

Microsoft has announced that over 100 Xbox game titles are going to be playable in Android. This is made possible by using the Xbox Game Pass and the Project X Cloud. Players who were waiting to play Xbox One games on Android are in for a treat. As all of these games will be based on the project X cloud, you will not be required to download these heavy games on your Android device. All the games will be streamed from Microsoft cloud. This also means there will be no strain in your phone processors for running the games.

Microsoft has not revealed the complete list of the titles that will be available in Android. The list is expected to be released soon. However, Microsoft did provide a teaser for the games that will be available. Project X Cloud is scheduled to launch on September 15th for the Android mobile gaming platform.

A few confirmed titles that are going to be announced for Android are; Minecraft Dungeons, Gears 5, Destiny 2, Tell Me Why, and Yakuza Kiwami 2. These are just some of the games; the actual list will have a lot more of games as Microsoft has promised to bring over a 100 titles.

Microsoft has also announced that the team intends to make Xbox Game Studio titles playable through the Project X Cloud from day one. So users need not worry about their game progress as all of their achievements, in-game purchases, and friend lists will automatically be transferred to the Android adaptation of the cloud-based games.

Signing Up for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate

All the players who wish to play the Xbox One titles in their Android smartphones will need to get an Xbox Game Pass. Signing up for the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate will cost you $1 for the first month, but after that, the subscription will cost $14.99/month. An Xbox Game Pass app will be made available to the Android Play Store, which will work like a companion app connecting the two platforms. This subscription to the game pass will give you access to all the games based on Project X Cloud to be played from your Android device and from your console and computer.

This new announcement has certainly made us excited for what’s coming. It looks like the future will be based on a cloud-based gaming environment where the users will just need to pay a subscription and then enjoy the games by streaming them to their devices.
