Microsoft Surface Hub 2S 85-Inch Review

Microsoft Surface Hub 2S 85-Inch Review

Microsoft had this aim to redefine the offices, the physical workspaces in which businesses run. And it took the first step and came out with the Surface Hub 2S. The company recently unveiled its huge 85-inch Surface Hub 2S, aimed at large enterprise businesses. This came three years after the launch of the first-generation Microsoft Surface Hub, a massive business-focused collaboration device that is somewhere in between a smart TV and a giant tablet. Microsoft formally unleashed its first major upgrade, the Surface Hub 2S 85-inch, which has begun pre-sales and will be available in January. The massive 85-inch model is available for $2199.

The huge screen is mounted to an exceptional rolling stand built by a steel case. A section in the center of the stand contains a custom battery from APC and a power cord. You can unplug the cord to easily wheel around the Hub 2S out of the conference room to any desk in the office. All of this makes it easier to collaborate with the Hub.

Microsoft’s second-generation model comes with the same built-in apps and software as in first-generation, including Windows 10, Office 365, Microsoft Teams, and the Microsoft Whiteboard app. The major upgrades in the Surface Hub 2S are in its hardware and specifications. According to Microsoft, the 50-inch model is 40 percent lighter at 61.6 pounds, making it easier to move around. It has also got a 4K display plus, multi-touch display, and 50 percent faster graphic performance with an eighth-generation Intel i5 processor.

It also has a 4K built-in wide-angle camera clipped to the top of the unit that is specifically designed for large boardroom meetings. This camera could be detached and moved to any side of the screen and also flips back out of the way to ensure it doesn’t break when you wheel the Surface Hub through the door frame.

The Surface Hub 2 Pens are substantially larger than standard Pro Pens, as they have been designed for whiteboards. Also, you must note that the Surface Hub 2S is not a personal computer, so you will have to sign in and out each time you use the device. The device itself does not keep any of your files, as it wipes everything clean after each use. So, you need to be accessing your files via OneDrive or USB. In the times of coronavirus pandemic, where the work landscape is changing with more people working from home, a tool like Surface Hub 2S can be a boon. Is buying a Surface Hub 2S 85-inch worth it? Absolutely. It adds a large amount of value to your business in the form of customer experience, collaboration, flexibility, and time-saving.

Tips & Tricks for Your watchOS 7 Wearable

Tips & Tricks for Your watchOS 7 Wearable

The current public beta version of watchOS 7 is really impressive and feels stable, especially considering the fact that this is the first open beta of the platform. Because of this, issues might get build-up, and Apple might have to repair your watch to bring it back to its normal functioning. So, we won’t straightforward recommend you to jump in until we make sure that it won’t create any issues for you.

Check Out the All-New Watch Face

This year’s watch face is the Chronograph Pro. It has a Tachymeter, along with more complications for the larger displays of Apple Watch. It will not be up to everyone’s tastes, as the face itself is just as customizable as any other feature.

Share Your Custom Watch Faces

If we talk of the customization, now users can share their tailored watch faces directly from their wrist. In case you got a compliment from your known ones over your looks, you can just click an openable link from the screen of your watch face selection.

In case the person who is downloading the face does not have the required app to complete the look, they’ll get prompted for downloading the respective apps. It is a fun way to share your setup in a very easily downloadable manner.

You can even post these links online, which can essentially create a watch gallery.

Multiple Complications per Face

Even though the options are limited, yet the Apple Watch now supports multiple complications from the same app. You can have “Mobile Data” and “Battery” from Controls app. You can have different weather forecasts, multiple to-do lists, and more. All this is a bit limited at present, but it will give more impressive watch face diversity.

Chat to Your New Siri

Siri has got a little more advanced in iOS and iPadOS. It will now respond to your queries more quickly and will offer a cleaner appearance. One of the most impressive updates is over the Siri translation, which will now be translating sentences or words for over 10 languages.

Enjoy a Speed Boost

The watchOS 7 feels a lot faster than its previous versions. In case you press the button on the side before to wake up your screen, then before pressing it for another time to get to your Dock, you will be impressed and surprised at the same time to find that your watch no longer requires button press for the second time. This denotes that you can simply press your Digital Crown for getting straight into the menu, rather than needing to press the button twice to get there. That might sound like a minute change, but for the fluency of the operating system, it makes a big difference.

The Fitness Application

The Activity app is now “Fitness”, with a handful of new workout options added to it. For one, “Dance” is now a workout type. You can also opt for, “Core Training”, “Functional Strength Training”, and a post-workout “Cooldown”. The Fitness app also shows the majority of your data on the front page of the iOS app, which saves your time searching through various tabs.

Get Some Rest

Finally, Apple has added up the Sleep Tracking feature to the Apple Watch. This app feeds back into your iPhone’s Health app to show you the results of how well you are sleeping, which is totally based on the minor movements while you are asleep. It might not be as deep as other sleep trackers, but it does offer a handy feature named “Wind Down” which helps you to prepare for sleep and sets a predetermined bedtime in order to prevent notification.

The battery life of Apple Watch isn’t great for using overnight, but the new prompt feature will prompt a window indicating you to charge your battery once it is under 30% while your bedtime is approaching.

On Your Bike

This year Apple Maps has got significant upgrades across every of its platforms including the watchOS. There is a new feature this time, and that is the addition of cyclist-friendly routes, along with the well-improved bike directions. This means you will more easily be able to track the bike lanes, busy roads, etc.

Guide to Choose the Best 5G Carrier and Connection for Yourself

Guide to Choose the Best 5G Carrier and Connection for Yourself

5G is one of the latest and common technological interests in the world. The 5G technology was introduced in 2019, but it is now that the companies are taking action to improve the power of the 5G network connection. They are also working towards reaching higher 5G network users. Currently, Verizon, T-Mobile, and AT&T are running forward with their 5G smartphones and network in the US.

Despite all the progress these companies are making, it will take a long time to reach all the customers. After the global pandemic, there will be low chances of people investing their money in a 5G smartphone. Moreover, these companies will take a longer time to reach rural areas, but urban areas might already start using 5G in huge numbers until then. Even the companies who have begun to set their foot on 5G networks will need a lot more time to set up the coverage areas. Before all of this happens, you have to be aware of the carriers that will prove equivalent to the price you pay.

Cost and Plan

The variety of 5G support smartphones are increasing every month. When you want to switch to the 5G experience, you’ll pay for both the phone and monthly 5G network plan. Even if you invest in a smartphone, you have to go through the process of purchasing a suitable plan for yourself. Most companies prompt you to choose a yearly plan, but you have to choose the one that is compatible with the device you intend to purchase.

Before sticking to a plan, you want to go through the details and do your research about compatibility as you might end up getting a 4G LTE plan. Without mentioning your device, you won’t be able to get a suitable plan. So, it is better to wait for the best deals and offers before signing in with your latest 5G device. Also, note that the 5G phones that have been available since the beginning will get outdated within the next two years.

Even if you stumble upon a suitable plan and good deal on the connectivity, the rates are still higher than what you have been paying for 3G and 4G LTE. A monthly plan for each individual can cost somewhere between $60 to $90, and they’ll offer 15GB to 30GB of the internet a month.

Which company offers the best coverage and carrier?

Currently, T-Mobiles, Verizon, AT&T, and Sprint are offering 5G connectivity. According to the reports, Verizon has turned out to be the fastest speed provider. By May, it covered more than 30 cities, and now, they are planning to expand their services to over 50 cities by the end of this year.

When it comes to AT&T, they claim to have captured more than 200 million users on their 5G network and are planning to sell affordable and cheap 5G smartphones.

About T-Mobile, they are offering the strongest and fastest 5G network of all the rivals. It can leverage nationwide low-band coverage, millimeter-wave to a bunch of cities, and mid bands. Sprint is also working towards keeping up with the latest technology.

When should you purchase a 5G phone?

For now, if you are not very much into the 5G carriers, then keep an eye on the 5G deals and promotional bundles from the carrier you’re currently using. Once 5G reaches your area, you can plan to switch the carriers, but only if you find an ideal plan. As we mentioned before that the 5G service wouldn’t be widely available for some time. Before making a move, learn everything your current carrier will offer in the future, and check if you are getting satisfying services.

If you’re planning to purchase it now, then the prices will be higher as the costs will reduce when a broader selection of phones and coverage will be available. If you’re adamant about trying it early, then use the Samsung Galaxy range. Also, note that either of the 5G network connections is not perfect yet. They are still under development and will continue to get better in the new few years. So, it would be better if you’re patient with the whole situation. This way, you will end up getting the best of both worlds, and they (network and smartphone) will last you a long time.

To check if 5G is available in your area, trust on Ookla to track their availability and speed in different locations. Using the Speedtest map, you can find the list of cities enjoying the 5G network. If you’re still confused, then know that 5G will eventually become as commonplace as 4G is today. It will take just a little more time.

New Fitbit Sense Features Could Surprise You

New Fitbit Sense Features Could Surprise You

There are three new sensors that have been added to enhance the technological versatility of the smartwatch from Fitbit. The sensors that have been added include temperature, ECG, and stress. The added sensors enable the smartwatch to perform various features that would actually blow your mind.

Stress

The stress sensor examines your skin and can tell you the level of stress you are facing. The stress sensor will work on the principle of Electrodermal activity, and the sensor is actually called a galvanic skin response sensor. ECG sensor is nothing new and has already appeared in smartwatches from Apple and Samsung (Samsung Galaxy Watch 3), and the temperature sensor is akin to the Oura ring.

Temperature

As the pandemic started besetting the world, people’s demand for a temperature-sensing device increased. As a result of this, paranoia about a possible fever caused thermometers to get a lot of attention.

But what about a temperature-sensing device that you can wear all the time? Yes, a temperature sensor embedded in a watch gives us a promise that technology is here to take care of us in the face of an unprecedented health crisis.

However, an employee of Fitbit has stated that the idea behind the temperature sensing technology embedded watch originated well before the pandemic.

This technology can not only tell you if you have a fever but can also predict if you are to catch one.

The Oura ring that is priced around $300 has become a popular wearable device associated with temperature sensing technology, but the Fitbit Sense smartwatch works identically. It measures the skin temperature when you are hibernating and then delivers the result when you are awake. The result also showcases the alterations in temperatures of the two states (awake and sleep) if they are any.

The technology works on the principle of electrodermal activity. The EDA sensor will measure a small microcurrent that will flow between the device and our hand when we press our palm against the outer rim, which in itself is used to conduct the electricity.

When we are stressed, our brain recognizes it and sends signals to our glands to produce sweat. The sweat also comes from our palms. Although the quantity is minimal when compared to physical exertion, there is a small amount of moisture that alters the conductivity of the skin.

The EDA app takes the reading, processes it, and shows us the result.

The Fitbit’s app is not similar to the relax app that is found in the other gadgets. The later mentioned app uses Heart Rate Variability (HRV) to determine your well-being. The Relax app also advocates mindfulness.

Fitbit, up until now, has not made any mindfulness and features app, but it is planning to do so.

The EDA app does require an uninterrupted duration of two minutes, during which you have to press your palm against the outer rim.

Electrocardiogram

The Fitbit smartwatch has an ECG sensor that is one lead and works when you pinch your finger against the edges of your watch. It completes a circuit, and a minuscule amount of electricity passes through your body.

However, the feature has not been termed reliable by the critics similar to the case of Samsung Galaxy Watch 3. It is also awaiting a pending FDA approval, which is expected to be approved this year. It is also a very primitive mimicking of ECG machines that health professionals use, and it does not predict heart attacks.

It works in a similar way as Apple, Samsung, and Withing watches do. It examines your heart and looks for any Atrial irregularities.

Fitbit has also announced large-scale atrial fibrillation research a few months back. The feature will also not be able to detect arrhythmia.

Other features have also been included such a Global Positioning System (GPS) tracker, SpO2 oximeter, optical heart rate sensor that promises precision at the time of exertion and hibernation.

Fitbit is also working on its premium health benefits plan, which will enable the company to make better use of the data they take from the customers. Fitbit is also working on a solution that will help them detect arrhythmia, a feature that their rival Apple watch already has.

Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 Review: A Magnificent Watch with Two Features Missing in Action

Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 Review: A Magnificent Watch with Two Features Missing in Action

The third version of Galaxy Watch from tech giant Samsung will be the first watch in the history of the technology to actually measure the level of oxygen on demand by the blood flowing in the veins of the user. However, the two anticipated features which are ECG and blood pressure, do not exist yet.

The watch has a lot of plus points. In particular, it looks enchanting to the eye. It is an attractive looking smart-watches with glaring circular-shaped AMOLED display.

The full form of AMOLED is- active-matrix-light-emitting diode. It is a display device technology that is powered by OLED (Organic Light-emitting diode). Since 2007, it has been used in electronic devices, and it is still being used in the modern lower cost and high-resolution outputs.

The latest aids are a great addition to its splendid technology which includes a running coach, a feature that will synchronize workouts between your TV and your watch. A more enhanced sleep tracking feature as well some health tools. Health tools include an ECG app as well as a feature that will measure blood oxygen levels. But the deliverance on health tools is disappointing, and battery life too needs a bit of work.

If we can give Samsung some slack about its health features, we will be surprised to know how many things are there to like about in this watch. If you were already a fan of Galaxy Watch because of its shining circular screen and a physically rotatable bezel, then you would surely love Galaxy Watch 3. Even during the time when the broad sunlight is penetrating through the screen, unlike other devices, its AMOLED screen lets you see it quite vividly.

So, if you are on a walk even during high noon on holidays, you can check your status nonchalantly. The screen will always be on, but if you want to save your battery life, you may want to turn that off from time to time. The display can always look shiny because you wouldn’t have to smudge it continuously, you may opt to use the rotating bezel instead to explore the screens.

It is advisable to use a sports strap while running or swimming because the leather may get shabby if you constantly let it soak in sweat or water.

Although some health features are missing, the list of the features are a great addition and can really make the watch stand out among its peers. It has an app that does electrocardiogram scan on your heart (ECG), a SpO2 app which is an oximeter application, and its sole purpose is to measure the level of oxygen saturation in the blood. It also has a BP monitor (a blood pressure measuring device that measures systole and diastole), an enhanced version of the sleep detection and period detection feature. It also gives a detailed analysis of your run if you wish to check it once you come to a halt.

You cannot be blamed for being a skeptic of Samsung’s health features. Although, the electrocardiogram feature did also come along with Samsung Galaxy Watch 2 but hasn’t been made available even though a year has passed since Galaxy Watch 2 launch. Even the BP monitor of Galaxy watch 3 showed some unreliable results when some early users did the tests.

The point which is to be noted is that Samsung has got FDA clearance for ECG app (although it still will not be available) and it hasn’t received any FDA clearance with the Blood Pressure monitor.

When talking about elsewhere in the world, the two features are only available in southern Korea.

Previous versions of Galaxy watches did have a feature that measures the oxygen level in the blood such as S10, but there have been improvements in SpO2. There is an opinion shared by many that SpO2 oximeter of Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 will give you a precise number whenever you demand it.

Its highly efficient fitness tracker envelops more than 35 workouts that include swimming, and it also has the capability to automatically detect as well as track at least seven of those workouts.

You may have to alter your setting because the default version of the setting does not show your current heart rate.

The sleep analysis is a state-of-the-art technology of Samsung Galaxy Watch 3. It gives you a score which can help you determine the quality of your sleep. It can also aid your understanding of your sleep patterns. It can showcase how much time you take to enter three stages of your sleep which are light sleep, Rapid eye movement sleep, and deep sleep.

Battery life is not up-to-the-mark.

It does have a battery specification of around 340 milliamperes per hour, and Samsung is pretty confident that it will run smoothly for two days, but that really depends on how you intend to use your battery.

If you let it run for 24 hours without charging with its screen on, brightness high, performing complex tasks such as workout trackers or sleep tracker, the battery will drain off in under 24 hours.

Furthermore, the battery capacity differs in versions of the watch. If you buy a 45 mm version of the watch perhaps only then you may get the battery at a potential that Samsung claims it does possess.

Conclusion It does look startlingly attractive, but few caveats in health aid apps do require immediate attention from Samsung so that the users do not start to get an impression that Samsung makes some careless claims.
