After the last episode of the popular comedy show Parks and Recreation left fans to want more of the series. It is an American political sitcom TV series created by Michael Schur and Greg Daniels. The first episode of the show aired on NBC on 9 April 2009 and the final episode featured on 24 February 2015; it has over seven seasons. Parks and Recreation released a special reunion episode this year on 30 April 2020. It stars Amy Poehler played the character of Leslie Knope, a mid-level bureaucrat in the Parks Department of Pawnee. Along with Paul Scheider played Mark Brendanawicz, Rashida Jones as Ann Perkins, the role of Tom Haverford played by Aziz Ansari, and Nick Offerman, Chris Pratt, Jim O’Heir in their respective supporting roles.

The signature of the show is a mixture of hilarious and heartwarming moments hard to replicate and hence to make it one of the most iconic friendly television series of all time. Park and Recreation have a unique tone and style, and many TV shows selection from Amazon Prime and Netflix are influenced by it. Community

Community is a TV sitcom series created by Dan Harmon. The show ran for six seasons and covered 110 episodes. The first five seasons of the show featured on NBC from 17 September 2009 to 17 April 2014 but the final season aired on Yahoo! Screen from 17 March 2015 to 2 June 2015. It stars Gillian Jacobs, Joel McHale, Yvette Nicole Brown, Danny Pudi, Donald Glover, Alison Brie, Chevy Chase, Ken Jeong, and Jim Rash. The show created a pop culture and meta-humor reference.



Community was nominated and received the Critics’ Choice Television Award for Best Comedy Series in 2012, and Primetime Emmy Award, among other accolades. The plot revolves around Jeff Winger, who is suspended and removed as a lawyer from the association of law when they discover that he lied about his bachelor’s degree from Columbia University. And to get a legitimate degree he enrolls at Greendale Community College in Colorado. He starts liking social activist Britta Perry and pretends to run a study group to spend time with her.

The fans of Parks and Recreation would not be disappointed with the unconventional Spanish study group in Community. The study group soon filled up with quirky and complex characters.

The Good Place

The Good Place is a fantasy comedy TV show created by Michael Schur. The first episode of the series premiered on 19 September 2016 on NBC and ran for four seasons. The show concluded on 30 January 2020 after completing 53 episodes. The story evolves over the period, though the first season follows a woman, Eleanor Shellstrop played by Kristen Bell, welcomed after her death to ‘the Good Place’, a selective heaven-like utopia and designed by afterlife architect, Michael played by Ted Danson. However, Shellstrop thinks that she was sent there by mistake, and she must hide her imperfections and tries to become an ethical person.

According to an article by The Cinemaholic, The Good Place has an outrageous place that manages to hook the audiences in a humorous tone. The show is creative in the comedic portrayal of the afterlife, and many of the cast of the show have featured on Parks and Recreation.

Arrested Development

Arrested Development is a TV sitcom created by Mitchell Hurwitz and aired for three seasons on Fox. The first episode of the series was aired on 2 November 2003 and ran up to 10 February 2006. The series follows Bluths, a wealthy dysfunctional family. It presented a serialized format, voice-over narration, handheld camera work, historical footage, and archival photos. The show maintains numerous catchphrases and running gags.

The series received one Golden Globe Award, six Primetime Emmy Awards, and influenced a cult following. Despite the positive response, Arrested Development received low ratings and canceled the viewership on Fox in 2006. Later, Netflix agreed to distribute the show on the video streaming service.

The first season of the show started with George Bluth, former and founder CEO of the successful company which builds mini-mansion among many activities. Michael, Bluth’s son, is a manager of the company and after spending a lot of time in the company, he decides to leave his family and company both. Soon after he makes this decision, George Sr. is arrested for defrauding investors and spending the company’s money for personal expenses. Lucille, his wife, becomes the CEO of the company and the youngest son, Buster is named as the new president. The family realizes that they need Michael and asks him to come back. Gradually the plot grows after that, while the entire family faces a downward spiral. Despite Michael’s problems, he strives to put the family back together.

New Girl

New Girl is a television sitcom created by Elizabeth Meriwether for the Broadcasting Company, Fox. The show revolves around a teacher, Jess played by Zooey Deschanel, when she moved to Los Angeles with three men, Nick played by Jake Johnson, Schmidt played by Max Greenfield, and Winton played by Lamorne Morris. New Girl is a combination of drama and comedy elements following some characters in their early thirties dealing with relationships and career choices.

New Girl received critical acclamation and was called to be one of the best comedy series of 2011. The series got nominations for many awards including, five Primetime Emmy Awards and five Golden Globe Awards. The show holds approval ratings of 88%based on 14 reviews on Rotten Tomatoes. And just like the sitcom Parks and Recreation, New Girl also examines the characters’ daily life and gradually develops the roles through their relationship and career troubles.

It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia

It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia who is unapologetic for its extreme pushes in intensely uncomfortable situations. According to an article in Collider, the funny, fascinating storyline of the show and the older Gang, could conceivably go on forever. It premiered on FXX on 4 August 2005, created by Rob McElhenney who developed the show with Glenn Howerton.

Game Of Thrones

Game of Thrones is an American fantasy drama TV show created by D.B. Weiss and David Benioff for HBO. The show is an adaptation of the book A Song of Ice and Fire. The first season of Game of Thrones was aired on 17 April 2011. The series’s filming took place in different places, including Canada, Iceland, Croatia, Malta, Morocco, and Spain. And the show concluded on 19 May 2019. The plot is set on a fictional continent of Westeros and Essos. The story focuses on many plots; one is about the Seven Kingdoms and Iron Thrones, which follows the conflict between noble dynasties. Another focus on the Night’s Watch is a brotherhood defending the realm against legendary creatures of the North and many more. Audiences, as well as critics, widely accepted the series. The critics praised the show for its complex characters, scope, story, acting, and production value. However, the violence and use of nudity are being criticized. The series received many awards, including 58 Primetime Emmy Awards, Outstanding Drama Series in 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019. And nominations of three Hugo Awards for Best Dramatic Presentation, five Golden Globe Award for Best TV Series Drama, and a Peabody Award.

Into The Badlands

Into the Badlands is an American TV series which premiered on 15 November 2015 on AMC. The series’s plot follows a young boy and a warrior who journey through a dangerous land to seek enlightenment. The series is based on 500 years after an apocalyptic, which ruined human civilization. The story is set in a territory known as Badlands, located between the Mississippi River and the Rocky Mountains. Barons control monopolies and land over commodities like fuel and opium. The Barons are served by a group of slaves called cogs and a prostitute class called dolls. The series is described as a “genre-bending martial arts series.” The Executive producer of the show, Stephen King, was also the action-director of the project. The series is filmed in Louisiana, Dublin, Ireland, County Wicklow.



The fantastic action sequences of the series are very engaging and grip the audiences from start to finish. Much like The Witcher, consistent action and upbeat are positive aspects of both the shows. Vikings is a historical drama TV series written and created by Michael Hirst for the History channel. Most of the series is filmed in Ireland. Vikings are based on one of England and France’s best-known legendary Norse heroes by Viking Ragnar Lothbrok. The series portrayed Ragnar as a farmer who gained popularity by successful raids into England and became a Scandinavian King with the support of fellow warriors and his family. Vikings premiered on 3 March 2013 in Canada. The show renewed the fourth season of 20 episodes and premiered on 18 February 2016. On 4 January 2019, the sixth season will be the final season and premiered on 4 December 2019. However, the sex scenes and nudity was censored and edited out for United States audiences. The Tudors

The Tudors is a fictional TV series set in 16th century England written and created by Michael Hirst and is produced by American television cable Showtime. The show is a collaboration between British, American, and Canadian producers. The shooting is mostly done in Ireland. It is based on the Tudor dynasty and specifically depicted King Henry VIII. The Tudors premiered on 1 April 2007, and it was the highest-rated series in Showtime in three years. The show debuted the second season on 30 March 2008 on Showtime and 1 August 2008 on BBC 2. The third installment aired on 5 April 2009 on Showtime and debuted on CBC on 30 September 2009. And the fourth season, which is also the final one, broadcast on 11 April 2010. Eight hundred seventy thousand viewers in the United States viewed the first season of The Tudors. The Tudors was nominated for Best Actor in a Television Drama for the performance of Jonathan Rhys, and Golden Globe for Best Drama Series in 2007. The show was nominated for eight Irish Film and Television Awards and won seven of them, including acting awards for Jonathan Rhys as Lead Actor, Nick Dunning as Supporting Actor, and Maria Doyle Kennedy as Supporting Actress; craftwork for Costume Design; Production and Hair/Makeup; and many more. The series also won 59th Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Award For Outstanding Music Title Theme Music and Outstanding Costumes.



The Witcher star Henry Cavill is the main character of the series. And Cavill has the same brilliant performance and charisma as Charles’ character. So if you are a fan of Cavill, there is one more reason to watch the show.

Merlin

Merlin is a British fantasy drama TV series starring Colin Morgan as James and Bradley James as Prince Arthur. The show was broadcast on 20 September 20018 to 24 December 2012 on BBC One. It was a season of 65 episodes. However, Melinis is not as violent as The Witcher, but it has a fantastic screenplay. The series is all about magical and mythical elements, with characters having powers that make the show engaging—the show aimed at a broader age group of audiences with younger viewers. The actors’ performances and brilliant storytelling make the show perfect for any fans of The Witcher.



The Last Kingdom

The Witcher was a fantasy story, and The Last Kingdom has a visually similar setting. It is a story of endless conflict between the Danes and the Anglo-Saxons, set during the 1800s in the United Kingdom. The Last  Kingdom follows the story of Wessex, which is a titular last kingdom. The Witcher has made a recognizable mark in audiences’ hearts, and The Last Kingdom shares a similar situation.
