5. Now begin File History, and then you can create backups.

Format External Hard Drive and Run File History Again

1. Launch the PC that appears on the external hard drive. Right-tap on it and “select” format.
2. Select the “Start” option to format your hard drive.
3. Once the formatting process finished, you need to open File History again.
4. You will be asked if you wish to save as an older version of the File history. Select “No” and then create a new backup.
