Sky High Could Be Made Possible on Disney+ If Fans Show Interest

It has been 15 years since we met teachers, students, and alumni of Sky High. The movie gave a humorous view of the superhero genre. It dealt with a high school for students with special powers. The film primarily takes a jab at a lot of famous superhero teams. We adore the film today, but it did not perform that well on the box office back in the day. The Commander was a spoof of Superman, and his wife, Jetstream was a spoof of the character Wonder Woman. Kurt Russell and Kelly Preston brought the two characters to life in the movie. The plot revolves around the only son of The Commander and Jetstream, Will Powers, and his best friend, Layla. Other relevant characters in the movie were Gwen Grayson (Will’s love interest), Warren Peace (Will’s self-proclaimed enemy), Mr. Timmerman, and Coach Boomer (teachers at the school).

The movie has slowly moved to the list of cult classics only because it makes fun of the glorified superheroes and presents their funny issues. Since 2005, there have been innumerable rumors about a possible sequel to the film, but neither was any official statement released nor did the movie begin. But recently, one of the scriptwriters of Sky High, McCorkle, opened up about it in an interview and expressed his opinion about the possible sequel. He stated that he believes a second part of the movie will be a “natural fit” for Disney+. He urged the fans to create chatter and support for the sequel by streaming the first movie and tweeting about it. He hinted that the director is also interested in the idea, and a slight push from the audience may motivate the team to get back and continue the story.

It seemed like McCorkle wanted people to create a virtual campaign as they did for the Snyder Cut. People gave so much love and support for the release of Zack Snyder’s cut of Justice League that the producers had no choice but to give in. He hinted towards Disney’s slight interest in the project, but ample support from people could help convert it into a reality. 

Sky High is presently available on HBO Max, but that will change on December 4, and people will get to stream it on Disney+ again. This coincides perfectly with what McCorkle said. If Disney decides to make a part two of the film, it will be shot with an average budget and put in the category of a teenage comedy. Such movies rarely do an exceptional business on the big screens, but they do notably well if released on a streaming platform. In such a case, the makers manage to omit the expense of releasing them in theatres, and the scope of profits rise. If Disney is sure that there is a ready audience willing to stream the movie and their effort will not go to waste, they might seriously consider doing the project.

Randy Orton is one of the most talented WWE superstars. He won the title of the youngest World Heavyweight Champion in 2004 during the SummerSlam event of WWE. He is a legendary wrestler and has challenged many legends of World Wrestling Entertainment. He is known as the legend killer of WWE because he had defeated many legendary wrestlers just when he joined wrestling entertainment. To achieve success and to win the title of WWE Champion very quickly, he challenged most of the rising superstars of WWE.

Shawn Michaels

Shawn Michaels was a very famous WWE wrestler of his time. He retired from World Wrestling Entertainment and started his career in wrestling when it was the World Wrestling Federation. Randy Orton was involved in the match with Shawn Michaels in 2003 for the first time. It was Orton’s first high profile one-on-one single match. However, Orton did not fairly win the match because Ric Flair helped Orton to win that match. When Shawn and Orton met for the second time, Orton again won the match, this time with the help of Batista. No matter how Orton managed to win the match but the reality is, he won both the matches with Shawn Michaels.

Rob Van Dam And The Intercontinental Championship

Randy Orton won the title of Intercontinental Champion in a fight with Rob Van Dam (RVD) at Armageddon. RVD was the Intercontinental Champion before his match with Randy Orton. Orton set an example for the upcoming young wrestlers, how to get success by hard work, and in less time. Orton is the only wrestler to hold the title of Intercontinental Championship for the longest time of 210 days. Orton also had matches with Edge and Benjamin over the title of the Intercontinental Championship.

Mick Foley

The feud between Foley and Orton started because of a match of Raw. Orton jumped on Foley along with Ric Flair, and that was the time when the disputes between Orton and Foley started. Foley decided to quit WWE after Ric Flair became the co-general manager of the Raw. Orton wanted to defeat Foley in a match, but Foley wanted to quit WWE, so Orton called him a coward. After a year, Foley returned to the Royal Rumble, but they could not have a match there. They had a match later in WrestleMania 20 where Orton finally defeated Foley and won his first WrestleMania match.

The Undertaker

The Undertaker, a very famous wrestler of WWE, also known as ‘The Dead Man,’ it is because of his so many deaths. Randy Orton lost the match with Triple H at the Royal Rumble. After that, he challenged the legendary Undertaker for an event at WrestleMania 21. Orton’s father Bob Orton also had feuds with The Undertaker, and for that rivalry, Orton challenged The Dead Man for a match. Somehow this match could not take place. Later, Orton and The Undertaker had a match in Hell in a Cell match at Armageddon. However, Orton was not able to win that match with Undertaker.

Michaels, Van Dam, And Dusty Rhodes

Randy Orton had fought with most of the legendary wrestlers of WWE in the year 2007. He had a match with Rob Van Dam, Shawn Michaels, The Undertaker, Triple H, and many more legendary wrestlers. After that, Orton challenged John Cena for a SummerSlam match but failed to win against John Cena. Orton also had feuds with Dusty Rhodes and won twice in the regular matches of Raw. Orton wrestled with Dusty Rhodes even in 2007 at the Great American Bash.

Ryan Reynolds reveals his true on-set Deadpool look

Tirelessly funny and always sassy Ryan Reynolds recently showed what he actually looks like on the set of Deadpool. The actor was talking about the new non-profit venture Group Effort Initiative where he will be taking in 10-20 BIPOC trainees on set with him. Mr Reynolds will mentor these trainees explaining the finer details of the art of films and giving them practical experience. And as he started talking about the fun time the trainees will have, he told them how they’ll see his actual face before it is beautified by makeup.

That’s when we see the Old Deadpool

As soon as he says that, a picture of the star pops up on-screen where he is wearing the Deadpool suit without the mask. His face is full of wrinkles and has absolutely white hair. It is another one of Ryan’s amazing comedic touches which never fail to impress. He is always ready for the next joke and makes fun of everyone including himself. That is one of the main reasons why out of all the X-Men characters, with the exception of Wolverine, he is the one that stands out. It isn’t Wade Wilson behind the mask, it is just a celluloid version of Ryan Reynolds; just as quirky, maybe bolder. And Deadpool can’t die.

When will we see the threequel?

The first two editions of the Deadpool solo franchise were massively popular. The movie set the record for the highest-grossing X-men franchise and the highest-grossing R-Rated movie of all time. Last year, when the acquisition of 20th century fox was finalized, Disney’s Ex CEO Bob Iger stated in plain terms that the Deadpool character would not be rebooted. This was refreshing news for the fans as the same was not said about the other X-Men characters. And Deadpool is perfect as is.  After that, recently Ryan Reynolds talked about talks going on about the third edition with Marvel. He said the world was new for his character but he fit in perfectly. Although he did mention that the movie was way into the future and it was still early stages.

It isn’t clear when Deadpool 3 is going to start filming or even an official announcement, but that doesn’t curb the excitement amongst fans. As per the plans officially released, Marvel’s Phase 4 is pretty jam-packed through 2021. But there are some mystery dates they’ve claimed in 2022 and 2023 that create speculations. Fans are especially interested in seeing Deadpool interact with different Marvel characters. Although we can have a sass-off between Deadpool and Tony Stark, he is still a welcome entrant to the huge superhero universe.

Currently, the actor is going to start work on an untitled time travel thriller, which will be directed by Shaun Leys and produced by Skydance. The movie will be released on Netflix.

The first two instalments of the Harry Potter series were relatively light-hearted and fun, with the three friends getting to know each other better. Harry, Ron and Hermione found some trouble every time, but Harry always managed to get away from the dark clouds and remained the “boy who lived”. But the next two movies wholly altered the entire mood that we were used to. The Prisoner of Azkaban and Goblet of Fire were massive hits at the box office. The two were much gloomy and set the pace for what was in store. But here are some alterations that the movies could use if they were made today:

Opening of The Prisoner Of Azkaban

The wizards had a strict rule for the students that barred them from using any magic in the world of muggles. The intent of it was to avoid the risk of being exposed and to ensure immature wizards do not injure anyone. Both the books and novels ensured that the viewers knew how non negotiable the rule was. Yet, the very first scene of The Prisoner of Azkaban shows Harry practising the Luminous Maxima spell in his Uncle’s house. But the entire movie never addressed it. It was a significant mistake that the makers could have caught on during the edits.

The Quidditch World Cup in The Goblet Of Fire

The Quidditch world cup scene was a majestic depiction of the wizards’ love for the tournament. It showed people from all over the wizarding world swarming in to witness the game between teams of Ireland and Bulgaria, but sadly it was cut short by the army of Voldemort. Both the wizards and in the movie and the audience in the hall would have preferred to see Ireland win the cup and Viktor Krum catch the Golden Snitch that led to their victory. The scene was worthy of much more, but it may have been shortened so leave time for other scenes.

Draco as a Dementor in The Prisoner of Azkaban

In the book, when Draco Malfoy finds out about the incident Harry had with the Dementors, he finds this uncontrollable itch to make a practical joke out of it. The three Slytherin friends- Malfoy, Crabbe and Goyle assumed the look of Dementors during Harry’s Quidditch match. In a reflex to defend himself, Harry cast a Patronus charm that startled the trio. Professor McGonagall was not very impressed with this attempt at humour and severely scolded the boys. But the movie only shows them teasing him during a class. It would have been a real relief to see the loathsome trio be at the receiving end of some harsh punishment.

Role of Reeta Skeeter in The Goblet of Fire

The fourth movie introduced the character of Reeta Skeeter. Depiction of her personality was as an immoral journalist who felt no shame in writing inaccurate stories and her misleading reports were usually the basis of all the wrong ideas that the wizards had about events. All in all, she was a horrible person.

Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot and Prongs in The Prisoner of Azkaban

The biggest drawback of translating a vividly imaginative book series into movies is that a lot of material either gets lost in translation or has to be voluntarily left out because of lack of screen time. But the small information that can be conveyed by a couple of dialogues should be consciously incorporated. The movies did a fantastic job in explaining the affection between Sirius Black, Remus Lupin, James Potter and Peter Pettigrew. But it never spoke of Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot and Prongs and whether they even had any significance. But the movie fans would have been thrilled to discover that every full moon night when Lupin turned into a werewolf, his three friends also took animal avatars to be with him. Their animal names were Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot and Prongs and they were the creators of the Marauder’s map. The story of these four could also make an interesting prequel for the movies.

The Maze in The Goblet of Fire

An author has no restriction of imagination when he writes a book, but when you try to create a movie franchise out of that book, the team can bring only so much to life. We witnessed this handicap when the tournament contestants entered the labyrinth for the final task. The movie only depicted wild hedges as the biggest threat for the young wizards. But in the book, the maze was riddled with horrendous creatures to harm and be a roadblock to victory.

Voldemort’s Speech in The Goblet of Fire

The speeches of Voldemort have always been a prominent part of the movies, but the Dark Lord officially returned in the fourth movie. When he gained all his powers and a body, all thanks to the joint efforts of Barty Crouch Jr. and Pettigrew, he gave a speech. But the speech in the book and movie were not similar. The speech in the movie should have been longer.

Even the best book to movie adaptations are often controversial among the fans of the original, and Harry Potter is no exception.

Post-Apocalyptic Zombie TV Series the Walking Dead Renewed For 11th Season

There is a reason for the Walking Dead fans to be delighted. AMC has renewed its post-apocalyptic zombie show for all those who are not aware of this exciting news for an 11th season. The makers also confirmed the return of Lauren Cohen’s character Maggie as a regular in the upcoming season. Cohen’s character left mid-way in season 10, and her return was shown in the latest season’s finale. Season 10 Ep 15 The Tower welcomed Juanita Sanchez, Princess, a character from The Walking Dead comics.

Is Maggie Going to Come Back a Changed Person?

In an interview with a media outlet, Lauren Cohen addressed her character returning after a time jump in the show. Cohen reportedly said that Maggie would have picked up a few things on the road after leaving The Hilltop. She also talked about Maggie’s relationship with her son and how spending time and growing with her son has affected her as a person. The actor also said that it would be fun to understand what motivated Maggie’s return to help her friends.

Addressing where her character left off things with her husband Glenn’s killer Negan, Cohen said that it is something she can only send once she comes face to face with the former Saviours’ leader. The Walking Dead actor also said that the viewers might witness to what extent Maggie has decided to change herself and forgive people who have destroyed her life.

However, the announcement made was way back in 2019. The makers released an official statement on October 5, 2019, a few days before the red-carpet premiere of the tenth season. In March 2020, the pre-production of season 11 was temporarily shelved, and the filming was also delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

“We Have Enough Material for The Next Couple of Years”

In the year 2014, the executive producer of the show, David Alpert, stated that storylines from the original comics had churned enough ideas for the show to continue for a couple of years. AMC CEO, Josh Sapan, in the year 2018, also stated that the company has plans on continuing the show for another ten years alongside new films and television series based on the original comic books.

The Walking Dead: A Story of Survival in a Post-Apocalyptic World

The Walking Dead is an American post-apocalyptic television series based on the comic book written by Robett Kirkman, Charlie Adlard, and Tony Moore. The highly-rated series features a vast cast. The story shows a group of survivors of a worldwide zombie apocalypse. However, with the fall of human civilization, the group faces a constant threat from other survivors, leading to a full-blown gory war between both the communities.

The show’s lead character, Rick Grimes, was played by Love Actually fame Andrew Lincoln before leaving the show in season 9. The Walking Dead’s other primary characters include Norman Reedus(Daryl), Mellisa McBride(Carol), Jeffery Dean Morgan(Negan), Lauren Cohen(Maggie), etc.

The Walking dead universe is so big that the makers have created many spin-offs. One of them is Fear of the Walking Dead, which has already completed five seasons. The story of this show is featured through the character of a school guidance counsellor, Madison Clark. It serves as a prequel to the Walking Dead.

The Walking Dead: World Beyond

The other spin-off, The Walking Dead: World Beyond, will be a treat for all fans. It is a limited two-season series created by Scott M. Gimple and Matthew Negrete and is going to premiere on AMC. Both the seasons will only consist of 10 episodes each before reaching its conclusion. The story is set in Nebraska, a decade after the apocalypse. It will feature two female protagonists and will focus on the new generation growing up in a world full of chaos and overrun by walkers.

This show was going to premiere on April 12, 2020, on AMC after the season 10 finale of the original Walking Dead series in the hit franchise. However, the pandemic delayed the finale’s premiere and forced the makers to postpone the release of The Walking Dead: World Beyond. Yet, in the United Kingdom, the series will be released on the OTT platform, Amazon Prime Video. The first official trailer was released at New York Comic Con on October 5, 2019, followed by a second trailer on November 25, 2019.
