How to create bold, italicized, or strikethrough text
WhatsApp allows you to create text in various styles. For example, you can create text in bold, italicized, strikethrough, and many more styles. To create text in bold style, you just need to put an asterisk (*) at the beginning and end of the desired word or sentence. If you want to type the word hello in bold, you will need to type *hello*. To create text in italic style, you will need to put an underscore (_) in the place of asterisk at the beginning and end of a desired word or sentence. The rest of the steps will remain the same. You will need to add a tilde (~) to the beginning and end of the desired word or sentence to strike through text.
Quote a message in your response
Quoting a message is one of the best tricks of WhatsApp to manage context. To quote someone, you just need to swipe right on the desired message, and it will appear at the top of the text field. After this, your response will be attached to the quoted text. WhatsApp also allows you to attach your response to the quoted pictures and videos. You can do the same thing by holding down on a message and tapping the arrow icon on the left as well.
Stop auto-downloading via mobile data
This is one of WhatsApp’s most commonly used features, helping you save your mobile data. WhatsApp allows you to save your mobile data while still receiving notifications and messages. Firstly, you need to disable the ability of the app to download media on mobile data. This can be done in the following manner: Settings > Data and storage usage > When using mobile data. In this section, you can check and uncheck the downloading of photos, audio, videos, and documents via mobile data. By doing this, you can download your desired media file whenever you need it.
Activate two-step verification
Whenever you change a device, WhatsApp asks for your phone number and a one-time PIN by default. However, if you enable two-step verification, you need to enter a six-digit PIN to add WhatsApp to a new phone. To create a six-digit PIN, you will have to visit Settings, after that, Account, and there you will find Two-step verification. By tapping this option, you will be able to create a six-digit PIN for two-step verification.

For doing this, you need to open the contact or group you want to add, then tap the three-dot menu in the top right corner. After this, you need to visit More > Add shortcut. After that, tap Add automatically, or you can also hold the icon to place it on your home screen.
Turn off the “last seen” feature
If you do not want to show the last time you have appeared online on WhatsApp, you can simply turn off the “last seen” feature. You just need to visit Settings > Account > Privacy > Last seen. You can then tap on the Last seen field and adjust it according to you. It can be adjusted to Everyone, My Contacts, or Nobody.
Disable read receipts
If you send a message to someone via WhatsApp, you will see double-ticks at the right side of your message once it gets delivered. When the recipient sees the message sent by you, the double-ticks icon will become blue. It means the recipient has seen your message. If you do not want your messages to show that blue ticks to everyone, you can disable the read receipt. It is another excellent feature of WhatsApp that allows you to disable the read receipts. To disable this function, you need to visit Settings, then Account, and then Privacy. In the Privacy field, you can uncheck the Read receipts box.
