These Are Some Of The Rarest Porsche 911 Models Ever

Porsche may seem like a highly mass-produced sports car, but there have been various limited edition models as well for quite a long time. Over the past 57 years, the gold standard of the sports car has been established by the Porsche 911 itself. Even after its unusual design and layout, it is now an icon of the high-end sports cars.

Though it is not unusual to see a Porsche 911 parked on the street, there are some extremely rare versions of the car. It can be possible that these models were specially made by Porsche Exclusive. Or they were extremely limited production.

Here are some of the rarest Porsche 911 models ever.

Sport Classic

Although the Sport Classic model of Porsche 911 was first revealed in 2009, the Sport Classic came in the year 2010 based on the 997 generation. It was a special project dedicated to the true old school 911 enthusiasts, and only 250 cars were designed. This model came with a double-bubble roof and a rear ducktail spoiler. The design of its wheel closely resembled the classic Fuchs wheels. Nowadays, these models are selling at very high prices.

Speedster (991.2)

This car was based on the 991.2 generation of the 991. It was not the first Speedster in the 911 group. It was an excellent car and one of the most beautiful 911 models of all time. It was built on the occasion of Porsche’s 70th anniversary. Only 1,948 cars of this model were built, and all of them used the fantastic 4.0 liter naturally aspirated flat-six engine. It could turn to make up to 503 horsepower. The features of this car included a manual roof as well.

SC/RS

According to the history of Porsche, there was a moment when they wanted to take on the World Rally Championship in the Group B class. For that, they made 959 along with 911 SC/RS. Porsche made 20 road-legal examples of it. It was a race car that was kitted with the legendary Rothmans livery.

964 Turbo Cabriolet

964 Turbo Cabriolet is the highest performance version of the 911 series. Only 14 units of the 993 Turbo Cabriolet were produced by Porsche Exclusive. This car used the same turbocharged 3.6-liter engine with 360 horsepower.

GT3 RS 4.0 (997)

GT3 RS 4.0 is one of the famous 911 models ever by Porsche. Its deal was once dropped back in the year 2011, but it came along in 2012. Another feature of this car includes a bored and stroke 4.0-liter naturally aspirated flat 6 with 500 horsepower. This car could do 193 mph in just 7 minutes and 27 seconds. Only 600 units were made by Porsche.

Club Coupe (991)

Club Coupe (991) was a very special car by Porsche, and it was made on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the World’s first Porsche owners’ club. This car was loaded with a lot of features such as unique exterior upgrades, optional powerkit, and 430 horsepower. The green paint finish of Club Coupe was one of its unique and beautiful exterior upgrades. Only 13 units were made for this model and out of which, one resides in Porsche’s museum in Stuttgart.

993 Speedster

The 993 Speedster is one of the rarest 911 models of Porsche. It is not like you can just go and buy a real one. It is because Porsche made only two units of this car ever. One of them was made for Ferdinand Porsche’s grandson, and the other one is owned by Jerry Seinfeld, who is a comedian and famous Porsche collector.

After discussing some of the rarest Porsche 911 models ever, we have concluded that although Porsche is a highly mass-produced sports car, there are various uncommon 911 models of Porsche that exist but are very rare.
