SkullCandy Sesh Evo Review

SkullCandy Sesh Evo Review

SkullCandy Sesh Evo is a convenient and stylish earbud for people looking for the right combination of price and features. The Sesh Evo comes in four colors, so if you are bored with standard white and black options, then you can check out its variety of colors. The earbud comes with an IP55 rating for dust and water resistance. This can be an excellent characteristic for people who are involved in heavy exercises.

The earbuds and the charging case is covered with a satin-like plastic which you usually find in Apple earbuds. When it comes to protection, Sesh Evo gives better protection which you typically get in Apple and Samsung earbuds.

Earbuds come in an asymmetrical oval shape with its logo on the outer surface that you can press to trigger the physical button control. A red LED light will glow whenever you charge your earbuds which will enable you to know whether you have placed the earbuds in place. On the back of its charging case, you get a USB-C charging port. On the front, you get a small button which informs you how much battery is left. Overall, the design is very functional and practical.

The earbuds fit smoothly and conveniently inside your ears even after hours of wearing. However, a certain amount of twisting is required to make it fit perfectly. The button demands a fair amount of pressure which is not ideal. The button mechanism gives you full control on Volume up/down, play/pause, call answer/end, and more.

With three taps on the outer panel, you can access the voice assistant, and with four taps, you can access the EQ modes: Movie, Music, and Podcast. Its Podcast mode focuses more on the human voice range, and its movie mode accentuates the frequency range like a soundbar. In music mode, you get a little less sculpted sound than the other two modes.

Battery life is not very impressive as per today’s standards. Fully charged earbuds give you a playtime of five hours only; however, you get a quick recharge feature in which you get two hours of playtime with ten minutes of charging. In terms of battery, SkullCandy Sesh Evo performs average.

At this price range, you get fantastic sound quality and performance. However, you need to adjust them a little to experience the full bass of the audio. The earbuds come with a Tile-based object tracking which helps you in easy tracking of earbuds in case you lost them. The Tile function works perfectly, all you need to do is just register yourself on the Sesh Evo app and access the “Find” button to trigger a high-pitched whistle which keeps on growing louder till you don’t find it. One of the fantastic features is that you can activate the sound even when they are off, inside their charging case or lying outside on their own.

When it comes to calling quality, it gives you an acceptable performance at this price range. You can make or take calls via these earbuds, but you have to speak louder and clearer to make sure the other person on the call can hear you. You can easily take indoor calls without any issue, however outdoor calls with heavy traffic can drown you out.

Should you buy SkullCandy Sesh Evo?

The major noteworthy features of Sesh Evo are its Tile tracking, multiple colors, and decent price. However, when it comes to battery life and call quality, the SkullCandy Sesh Evo is not up to the mark. So, if you are looking to buy wireless earbuds in the budget, then SkullCandy Sesh Evo is a perfect choice.
