Sometimes, you might need to change the file size and resolution to use it with any other third-party applications or any software. Paint and Paint 3D enables you to perform the same in Windows 10.
Below mentioned are the steps to change the File size and Resolution in Paint and Paint 3D.
Change File size using Paint
To change the file size in Microsoft Paint, the steps are as follows:
- Go to the Paint application on your Windows. Use the ‘Search’ menu or open directly from the shortcut, if any.
- Press ‘Ctrl + O’ on your keyboard to open the image in the Paint app.
- Tap on the ‘File’ menu on the top of the screen and select ‘Save as.’
- Opt for the folder or location where you want to save your file.
- Save your file as JPEG format from the save as menu. Click ‘Save.’
The objective behind doing this is, if you save any image using Paint, its size gets reduced automatically.
Change File size using Paint 3D
To change the file size in Microsoft Paint 3D, the steps are as follows:
- Go to the Paint 3D application on your Windows.
- Open the image whose size needs to be deducted.
- Tap on the ‘File’ menu on the top of the screen and select ‘Save as.’
- Save your file as an ‘Image’ format.
- Select a location for your file.
- Select 2D-JPEG from the save as drop-down menu.
- Click ‘Save.’
Change File Resolution using Paint
To change the file resolution in Microsoft Paint, the steps are as follows:
- Go to the Paint application on your Windows. Use the ‘Search’ menu or open directly from the shortcut, if any.
- Press ‘Ctrl + O’ on your keyboard to open the image in the Paint app.
- Select the ‘Resize’ option in the ‘Home’ tab.
- A new window will appear. Set the resolution of your image in percentage or pixel. Choose any as per your convenience and set the resolution.
- Once you’ve entered the resolution, click on the ‘Ok’ button to save the changes.
- Now, click on the ‘Save’ button from the File menu to make changes to your file, or click ‘Save as’ to create a copy of the file.
Change File Resolution using Paint 3D
To change the file resolution in Microsoft Paint 3D, the steps are as follows:
- Go to the Paint application on your Windows. Use the ‘Search’ menu or open directly from the shortcut, if any.
- Change your settings to the ‘Canvas’ tab.
- Under the canvas tab, you can choose to set the resolution of your image in percentage or pixels. Select any one and set the resolution.
