My Hero Academia: What Makes All Might Different from Homelander

 Homelander of The Boys and All Might of My Hero Academia both are very crucial characters in their respective universes. Factors like physical setbacks, characterization, worldbuilding set them apart. But there are also important aspects in which they are quite alike. However, regardless of these similarities, All Might does not become a Homelander. Today we look at some of the factors that play a role in his character development that prevent it from happening.

 All Might’s Appearance

Homelander is an egotistical narcissist, and it is understandable since he has many powers at his disposal that might make even the humblest man a little arrogant. We often hear the words, “Power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely.” Homelander is no exception in this regard. However, All Might is quite humble, but there are several reasons for that. He cannot sustain his hero form ever since he got injured during a fight with All for One, slowly killing him. He can only use his hero form for a certain amount of time, which he saves for confronting villains. When he goes out shopping, it is hard to imagine that he is Hero no. 1, who has been saving the world from villains for decades. 

His inability to maintain his true form 24/7 puts a dent in his confidence as he is aware that after a few minutes of action, he will be his usual weak self. On the other hand, Homelander has no such limitations, so he has all the powers at his disposal any time he wants, making him arrogant.

All Might: A teacher

All Might can be seen training and working with the next generation of hero students as a mentor and teacher. He dedicates his time to teaching others about a true hero’s responsibilities, and he is always empathetic to students whenever they make a mistake. He has a father-like presence, especially in the life of Izuku, who struggles to get used to his newly received Quirk, One for All. His selflessness is evident, and even though All for One has given him a life-threatening injury, he never talks about his suffering from anyone. All Might is a hero in the true sense of the word, and even the hero killer Stain recognizes it.

Homelander, on the other hand, can be seen using empathy as a tool of manipulation. He even manipulates his son Ryan, the world’s first natural-born Supe, to use his powers, mostly failing without success. His frustration is evident whenever that happens, but All Might was always patient and sympathetic to the hero students when they struggled with their Quirks. Homelander lacks sympathy about the supposed death of Stormfront and instead reveals his anger. It was a critical moment for him to express sympathy for his son, but he failed to do so.

All Might’s Life Goal

All Might is the Symbol of Peace for the people of Japan, and he dedicates his entire life to upholding that image. He ensures that whenever a villain attacks, people always have hope that All Might will step up to protect them. He does it without failing for years. Even when he has a life-threatening injury, he fights with All for One and somehow manages to defeat him. All Might put everything on the line to ensure that people had confidence in heroes. In order to ensure this trust is not lost, he passes on his Quirk to Izuku and dedicates his time to train the next generation of heroes by working with the hero students. 

Homelander does not have any such life goals in particular. He only is concerned with ensuring that he remains the most valuable asset for Vought. It is almost impossible to imagine him taking a self-sacrificing role like All Might. He can never put his interests after others. He is only interested in furthering his own agenda and ensuring that his influence increases; there is little in him that deserves to be called heroic.

Different Hero Societies

All Might live in a world where 80 percent of the people have some Quirk. People who are born Quirk less are even looked down upon and bullied., like the protagonist Izuku. Quirks play such an important role that people even marry, taking into account the Quirks that the children might inherit, as in Shouto Todoroki’s parents’ case. Like Izuku, All Might was also born Quirkless until he inherited One for All. Although one has to pass an exam and undergo training to become a pro, superpowers are very common in the world of My Hero Academia.

In the Boys, superpowers are acquired when characters are injected with a specific chemical, as in the case of Homelander and other Supes. Since they are rare, unlike in My Hero Academia, they are often seen as gods. As he was raised by doctors in an unloving environment, Homelander grew to become a hateful man. The lack of parental love and care has a long-lasting effect on his character development.

It is evident that All Might and Homelander are a result of the environment they grew up in, and their respective worlds have played a crucial role in the type of hero they have become. Although Homelander is stronger, All Might’s will power can defeat him just like he defeated All for One so many times despite being weaker of the two. But, still, both of them are entertaining characters that leave an indelible mark on the audience.

Step 1: Start by navigating to the menu window and click “Help,” followed by “Troubleshooting Information.” This will open a new tab. 

Step 2: In this window, open the tab named “Application Basics,” then select “Open Folder.”

Now, when you restart Firefox, the profile folder will be created automatically.

Tite Kubo’s ‘Burn the Witch’ Is Good Enough to Stand on Its Own

Tite Kubo is the creator of the manga Bleach that later became the material for arguably the best anime of all time. So, when Burn the Witch came out, there were many expectations from it because of Kubo’s name. The fans expected it to be a spinoff of the leading franchise, which would be quite similar to his best work, Bleach. Although Burn the Witch is set in the same world as the famous anime, surprisingly, there is a lot of difference. It does pay tribute to the older franchise, but its storyline is unique enough to have a fan following and identity of its own.

The new franchise, despite taking inspiration from the former, manages to be independent. The visual flair of the story appears to be like Bleach reborn in a modern setting. The visual connection of both of them is through a fundamental element that has been used to tie them together. Like the monster hunter theme, where professionals roam the streets looking for monsters to destroy them using specialized equipment, they use dragons to fly into battle and report to the western branch of Soul Society called the Pipers. They track rogue dragons and other creatures that prove to be threatening the peace. 

When the deuteragonists, Ninny Spangcole and Noel Niihashi, take their responsibilities, heartbreak, chaos, and adventure. The two girls being the main character for a Shonen action is refreshing to watch, and it is an essential aspect in which Burn the Witch differs from Bleach. Even though they are in the same universe, the latest franchise is more of Bleach’s spiritual successor than a true sequel. 

The two worlds are similar enough to each other that Ichigo Kurosaki can pay a visit to the deuteragonists of Burn the Witch, and it would make sense. It is as if Tite Kubo has gone with the same premise but with a new skin. Burn the Witch could be called the cousin of Bleach, which would be an appropriate analogy. The new franchise is refreshing enough that newcomers and hardcore Bleach fans both enjoy at the same time. 

The biggest strength of Burn the Witch is that it is a loose adaptation of the Bleach franchise, so it is good enough to entertain even newcomers who have little knowledge of the famous manga or the anime. Since it is just a miniseries/ movie, it does not need anyone to look at other places for references. New fans can enjoy the work of Tite Kubo, which is one of a kind, without having to put in too much time going through Bleach, which would have taken a long time to digest. Another way of looking at this is the people who enjoy Burn the Witch can try Bleach, which will be an experience to cherish.

If you are a Bleach fan, Tite Kubo’s Burn the Witch will impress you. You will be able to see the inspirations that have been drawn from the previous franchise. However, if you have never read or watched Bleach, you still don’t need to worry; there is no better way of being introduced to Tite Kubo’s work than this miniseries/movie.

“Thor: Love and Thunder”- Christian Bale Has Embarked on a New Journey

Marvel Studios is now assembling its troops for the fourth film in the Thor franchise; the principal photography will kick start in Australia in the first half of 2021 (possibly January). Though the production commencement is still three months away, actors have been called up to prepare for the role, which deals with their rehearsals, costumes, combat training, and other necessary things to work on before they begin portraying their characters.

Christian Bale was seen arriving in Australia; he will join Halle Berry, Josh Brolin, Ben Affleck, Ryan Reynolds, and others as someone who has worked for both DC and Marvel. Fans were highly surprised when they heard about his recruitment, given the fact that he has confessed many times that he does not want to work in a superhero film. It will be interesting, though, seeing Bale and Hemsworth go head to head in a motion picture.

We will have to keep in mind that Christian Bale has portrayed Batman in two of the finest films ever made in a superhero genre (The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises). What has also shocked the fans is the fact that he will be playing the antagonist character and his previous experience in that kind of role include films like American Psycho and The Machinist.

Well, ask any critic in the world, even if Christian Bale is at his 50 percent for the film, he will massively overshadow Chris Hemsworth’s performance.

Academy Award winner for Black Swan, Natalie Portman will return to reprise her role of Jane Foster almost a decade after her last Marvel film Thor: The Dark World. In her last interview with Jimmy Fallon, she described the film as “silly, funny, and great” and enthused about her new opportunity of working for Marvel. She expressed her pleasure at being given a chance to act under Taika Waititi and said that she is quite happy to be included in the team.

“Thor: Love and Thunder” currently has a slotted release date of February the 11th, 2022. 2022 will be a great year for Marvel with its Phase 4 films lined up one after the other. Thor: Love and Thunder will be released amidst high-profile tentpoles like Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Black Panther II, and Captain Marvel 2.

The Irregular at Magic High School: Miyuki defeats Lina

The latest episode of The Irregular at Magic school is as action-packed as it can get. Tatsuya reveals the true identity of Angie Sirius by overwhelming her spell Parade. But he finds himself in a spot when Lina’s USNA agents outnumber him. Thankfully a surprise intervention saves him and helps him get some crucial information on the origins of the parasites and the vampires. 

Tatsuya and Lina do not necessarily hate each other. They are more like frenemies, and as their rivalry grows, they do wish to defeat one another, but neither of them intends to kill the other. They are both chasing their goals, and despite being enemies, they are doing whatever they can to keep their essential secrets. Shizuku finally finds some harrowing facts about the origins of the parasites while Tatsuya shares some of the newly learned insights with his classmates.

When the fight between Lina and Tatsuya intensifies, she somehow hurts him, but Tatsuya is quick to respond and throws something that appears to be like a grenade to blind her in order to buy some time. He does not wish that Lina gets to know of his superhuman abilities, so while she is blinded, he uses the time to heal himself quickly. He then pins her, but she calls for help. The Star agents, outnumber Tatsuya and Lina, realize that this is ideal for finishing him off. However, Miyuki has other plans. She freezes every one of the Stars using a magic attack. 

Tatsuya requests Lina for a one-on-one fight with her with no interruptions. The conditions are simple, if Tatsuya wins, Lina will have to answer his questions, and if Lina wins, she is free to go. Lina knows that she is in a spot and has no other option but to compete to prove her abilities. But it turns out Miyuki is still furious that Lina and her companions cornered his brother. She asks to fight Lina herself, and it turns out to be a titanic magical battle as Miyuki almost kills hers with her powerful magic. Thankfully, Tatsuya intervenes in time to protect her.

Lina accepts her defeat and provides some crucial intel to Tatsuya that can help hunt vampires. Shizuku, on the other hand, is doing his investigation in the United States using his connections there. He soon finds surprising news about the parasites. It appears that they first appeared after experimentation on the creation and elimination of black holes went out of control. 

The parasites can bring out the dark desires in the hearts of the people whose bodies they infiltrate. Tatsuya tells Katsuto, Mayumi, Mikihiko, and Erika this crucial piece of insight to help them all with their investigation into the matter. Although, there are still many unanswered questions like Why do the vampires commit murder? Why are Parasites interested in changing human nature? We might soon get to know everything since Tatsuya placed a Transmitter on one of the vampires, which can help track the parasites. 

It’s intriguing that Lina’s true identity was not revealed, and she did not even come to know that it was Tatsuya behind the Scorched Halloween incident. Tatsuya did not share Angie Sirius’s true identity, which means he does have some feelings for her. Even Lina feels the same way about him. She would love to get to know Miyuki and Tatsuya, but her ego gets in her way.

It would be interesting to see where the story goes from here. Both Lina and Tatsuya seem to be destined to work with each other. But for now, they are going to be frenemies. Then there are the secrets that will soon be revealed, which will solve some of the biggest mysteries. If the current direction of the investigations is any sign, we just might get to know the real purpose of the parasites and, more importantly, where they come from; however, we will have to wait for now to get answers. The upcoming episodes are bound to be one of the most interesting ones of this season.
